My dearest Thistle

I'm sure most of you have no idea what a thistle is. Neither did I when I travelled for the first time to my favourite city in this world, Aberdeen. Scotts made it very clear to me what a thistle was indeed! When you go hiking to the Highlands you realise everything is covered by this special and beautiful flower:

There's a story behind this flower. It is said a group of sleepy Scottish warriors were set on by a silent party of vikings when one of them suddenly cried because he had trod on a wild thistle. They saved thanks to this incident. True or not, I was completely amazed by this story. It reminded me the flower of Lis "flor de lis" which is an identity symbol for lleidatans and you can find it in our historical shield.

I really like the thistle because violet is one of my favourite colors. It's a vibrant and lively colour full of light and power. And I'm sure most of Scotts agree with me!

There's also a national song called "The flower of Scotland". When I listen to it I can only think when I'll be able to come back to Scotland, my stout-hearted land and second home.

Be well in all things my dear friends!
